Woodwork
A selection of original woodwork created alongside my commercial modelmaking, exploring form, grain and the natural character of different timbers. Pieces are created using a combination of 3D CAD, CNC machining and traditional woodworking techniques.

Elm Clamshell Bowls
AA family of original clamshell designs, each formed from two interlocking bowls. Different varieties of elm, with their distinctive grain and colouring, give every piece its own character. The surfaces were sandblasted after sanding to create a unique textured finish.r.

Beech Vases
A set of three original vase designs, each created from solid beech spindles and shaped to give a distinctive individual form.

Walnut & African Rosewood Monitor Stand
An original monitor stand and drawer unit featuring a walnut carcass with contrasting African rosewood drawers. Designed with distinctive corner drawers and unusual rounded drawer forms.

Spalted Beech & Cherry Coils
Three original circular coil sculptures created from spalted beech and cherry. Each piece was carefully CNC machined from both sides before being hand-fettled and finished to create its distinctive flowing form.

Cherry Spiral Bowl
A large cherry bowl with an original fluted spiral form, the entire bowl twisting into a flowing vortex design.

Hardwood Trefoil Knots
Original trefoil knot sculptures created in a range of sizes from oak, beech and false acacia, combining complex flowing forms with the individual character of each timber.

Mixed Hardwood Clamshell Bowls
A selection of original interlocking clamshell bowls created from elm, mango and walnut, with the different timbers giving each piece its own distinctive grain, colour and character.

Bespoke Hardwood Vases
A collection of 24 individually designed wooden vases, made in sets from cherry, oak, sapele, walnut, African rosewood and false acacia. Each features its own distinctive form and character.

Sapele Möbius Forms
A series of Möbius strip-inspired sculptures made from sapele, with each form featuring between one and four twists to create a range of flowing, continuous shapes.
